Day 19 - Exploring Tromsø
Breakfast around 8.30am and around 10am we drive to Jetka mall for shopping.
Great shops for outdoor clothing!
In the afternoon we walk over the Tromsøbrua to Tromsdalen kirke (the Arctic Cathedral), Europe’s second-largest mozaïc glass window, very impressive building.
There is a funeral going on so no entrance possible and we keep our distanse.
From there you have an amazing view of Tromsø.
Then back over the bridge and we walk along the water up to the 7 muses and then back. We did not see the dashshund statue, it seems to be removed???
Around 5pm at the hotel for a rest and shower.
Suddenly again the fire alarm in the hotel goes off, luckily just for a gew seconds...
Then at 7.15pm dinner at Fangst.
As starter we both take the grilled scallopes and as main Patrick the pan fried redfish and Nathalie the coal grilled turbot

Those old red phone booths in Tromsø that now serve as places to borrow or exchange books are called 'Lesekiosker' - literally 'reading kiosks'. It's part of a national project where about 100 of the historic phone booths have been preserved and transformed into public mini-libraries

The Sauna Pust Tromsø which was honored with the Traveller's Choice Award 2025!
Helmer Hanssen was a prominent Norwegian polar explorer, known for his role in Roald Amundsen's expeditions and as an ice pilot. His monument stands prominently in front of the MS Polstjerna, creating a symbolic link between his polar experiences and the maritime history reflected by the ship
'De Syv Musene' (The Seven Muses) is a series of seven large white concrete sculptures in front of Hålogaland Teater. Inspired by the classical muses, they symbolize creativity and artistic inspiration, each with a unique, mask-like face
