Day 07 - Exploring the South of Lofoten
Wake up around 5.45am as we are not used to the beds yet...
We have a nice breakfast at the hotel and around 10am we leave and drive towards Nusfjord, then to Mortsund, Offersoykammen... there we see a moose with two little ones far away in the woods... then to Moskenes, then Å i Lofoten where we walk around.
We walk up a hill to see the Agvatnet, then we walk to the most southern point you can reach without ferry on the lofoten.
On our way back to Reine we pass Moskenes and after the tunnel we see some fins comming out of the water...
It is a migrating pod of killer whales, about 8 of them swimming, we take pictures until they are too far, so we drive back to Holmen where we see them again...
We walk to the shore with a young woman, Aleksandra, we take pictures of the pod and get Aleksandra’s mail so we can send her some pictures!
Then we want to take pictures of an overview of Reine but no parking place so we drive to our rorbuer and park the car there and walk back to the viewpoint... wonderful!
The weather is great! Then back to our rorbuer, shower, relax a bit and then dinner.
We booked dinner yesterday for 8.45pm tonight in Gammelbua.
We both take the reindeer carpaccio as a starter and as main course both the reindeer steak. Excellent! This restaurant serves absolutely delicious food, we can only recommend it, just amazing to find this quality of food in such a 'small' place!
We have a chat with the staff and then again a little walk around to see the wonderful evening sun.
Around 11.30pm we say... Goodnight, but the sun was still awake!
