Day 06 - Driving to Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland

Today we go back to the hotel St Christopher for our breakfast and take again something for lunch.

After breakfast we leave the B&B and we drive to the north towards Rocky Harbour, the weather is beautiful.

At Pinchgut Lake we stop to stretch our legs and take some pictures. Right above Pinchgut Lake we see our first ever circular halo around the sun. This phenomenon (also known as a 22° halo) is produced in cirrus or cirrostratus clouds when the sunlight is refracted in ice crystals in the atmosphere. Beautiful!

At Wiltondale we take the left turn and just before Glenburnie, next to Bonne Bay Road, we see a nice picnic spot where we have our lunches and enjoy the food and the scenery.

Then we drive on and stop at Woody Point, just before Bonne Bay. We drive on to Trout River with its nice little port and beach. We drive back to Wiltondale and continue our drive towards Gros Morne National Park.

We pass our hotel as we want to drive today to Norris Point. There it is also a fantastic view…

Around 5pm we check in at our hotel and after a great shower we settle down at the hotel’s restaurant for another fabulous lobster in our hands…

Daytrip approx. 459 km
