Day 19 - Old Idaho Penitentiary
After the very nice breakfast buffet at the hotel (which is included) we drive into the mountains through the Boise National Forest. We passed two cars on this trip... Plain and simple; why bother, there is nothing to see but a canyon. Go directly to The Cheesecake Factory and the mall next door! ;-)
We drive to the viewpoint at the Lucky Peak Lake and have our picnic lunch (which we bought at the gas station as we did not have a grocery store close to the hotel).
We drive on to The Old Idaho Penitentiary. For us this is an amazing location for urbex photography, but it is very hot in Boise and allmost everything is in full sun...
After a few hours at the penitentiary (we could go on for hours and hours...), we drive on to the Historic Union Pacific Depot . Of course, it is closed today (only open on sundays and mondays...) so we decide to have an early shower and drive to the Boise Towne Square (the mall) to have a quick look at the shops where we will spend our day tomorrow and then we go next door's to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner!!! Again an excellent meal!
