Padinago's trip to the USA in 2013

Day 19 - From Monterey to San Francisco, California

This morning we have our last breakfast at the hotel - great chocolate chips pancakes - and we drive again to the wharf hoping to see some pelicans. We have no luck! Only a sea otter and a lot of sea lions.

We drive on along the coast and just outside Monterey at the bay of Moss Landing we see about 20 sea otters, this is amazing! We take our time to enjoy this view and to take pictures.

Then we continue our drive and do several stops hoping to see the pelicans but today we are out of luck as we have a lot of fog. When we almost reach San Francisco, we stop at the Pigeon Point Light House and the Pillar Point Harbour (an Air Force Station) and there we finally can see our last pelican.

Once we arrive in San Francisco we drive straight to Twin Peaks where we have an amazing view of this beautiful city. Incredible!

Then we check in at the same hotel where we stayed the first days of our trip and this time, as we asked then, we get a beautiful room on the top floor. We reorganize a little bit, take a shower and are on our way to Scoma's where we had a great dinner before. The scallops are really great!

After dinner we have a little walk around the wharf and then back to the hotel for a good night's sleep...
