Day 16 - Sequoia National Park

This morning we take our breakfast at the hotel. It is so crowded! Probably because the guests did not eat enough during dinner last night so they have to make up for that.

Patrick gets a warning from his hernia, he gets a strong stab in his lower back so he needs to take it easy today.

We drive to Sequoia National Park, again, this road is full of hairpins and after 1,5hrs we reach the park. In the course of the day we do two hikes to the 'giants', the huge trees amongst which the famous 'General Sherman' and also a heavy hike to the Canyon overview.

Around 4pm we start our drive back to the hotel and just a few minutes before reaching our hotel we see the restaurant 'Gateway'. We park our car and check this out. We decide to stay there and have dinner. From the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside is really nice (and especially the menu!). We are being served by 'Hercule Poirot', our waiter who looks like him. He has an amazing moustache just like Hercule. We tell him about Hercule...

This dinner is delicious, who would expect such a high quality in this small village... Then we drive on to our hotel, have a shower and go to sleep.

Daytrip approx. 185 km
