Padinago's trip to the USA in 2013

Day 7 - From Klamath Falls to Chester, California

After our breakfast we leave Oregon and drive again into California. On our way we stop at a stream full with white pelicans. Beautiful! Yesterday we had snow and today it is over 30°C. We drive on towards Lassen Volcanic National Park and stop at Castle Crags State Park where we have an amazing view of the Crags.

Further on we see the only deer for today... a roadkill. A bit further we see our only black bear till now... a roadkill. This must have happened just a bit earlier as there are some people standing and holding his leg up. We reach Chester and check in at our hotel. We then drive on around Lake Almanor and see some more pelicans in the wetlands around the lake. We have dinner at RJ's and afterwards we walk around the village as we were told that there would be some live music. We see two little stalls but no music so we get back to the hotel and go to sleep early so tomorrow we can spend a whole day in the park.

Daytrip approx. 388 km
