Padinago's trip to the USA in 2010

Day 12 - Colorado NM, Grand Mesa NF and Black Canyon Of The Gunnison NP

Today we leave early again as it will be a long day of more than 700 km. At 7.30am we leave in the direction of Fruita, Colorado where around 9.30am we take the exit to the “Colorado National Monument”. There we take our time to enjoy this beautiful area.

Around 11.30am we drive back to the main road towards “Grand Mesa National Forest. By noon we enter the National Forest. We are at a height of about 3000m. It is a relief to be away of the heath and be surrounded by snow-covered woods.

An hour later we leave the NF and drive to Montrose and look for the diner where we had a great meal two years ago. We find “our place” immediately. At the “Café 110” we enjoy a delicious lunch.

Around 3pm we reach the “Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park” which PaNa enjoyed two years ago and did not mind at all to experience again the grandiosity of this beautiful canyon.

Around 5pm we finish our trip and after taking some fuel, we head back to Moab, Utah, where we arrive around 8pm and again look forward to our dinner at the “Moab Brewery” and then go to bed...
